Justin Kennedy was raised in Edgewater along with his older brother Jason (Richmond, VA) and identical twin brother, Jonathan (Pleasanton, CA) by their parents,  John and Dr. Mary Patt Kennedy.

As a child, Justin grew up in his father’s lawn equipment business.  A business founded by his Grandfather Robert “Skeets” Kennedy in 1965.  Located in New Smyrna Beach, it was in this small business that Justin developed a strong work ethic and learned the values of patience, persistence and commitment.

Justin Kennedy’s years of experience working in, and running a small business located within Southeast Volusia County, as well as his lifelong interaction with the community has given him an understanding of the challenges that face our county and the needs of its residents and businesses.

Continuing in the family business, Justin is self-employed and operates a landscape contractor business that serves all of Southeast Volusia County.

As a lifetime Southeast Volusia Native, Justin attended Sacred Heart Elementary, Edgewater Elementary, New Smyrna Beach Junior High and New Smyrna Beach Senior High School graduating in 1988.  After high school, Justin attended Daytona Beach Community College and Radford University in Radford, Virginia.

Justin now resides in Edgewater with his wife Susan and their five children, Jack (14), Parker (12), Mitchell (12), Max (8) and Lauren (4).  The children are all Honor Roll students attending NSB High, NSB Middle, Chisholm Elementary and St. Paul’s Pre-school, respectively.  A graduate of the University of Florida (’92), Susan Kennedy, who now works as a full time Mom is a former teacher at Sweetwater Elementary in Port Orange and Chisholm Elementary in New Smyrna Beach.

Justin and his family enjoy boating and fishing, snow skiing and flying.  The Kennedy family is also very active in the youth sports programs offered by New Smyrna Beach and Edgewater and can be found on many nights and Saturday mornings at one of the city’s sports complexes.
